Which is the Best Cheap Gaming Laptop Under $200?

You cannot give a definitive answer to this question unless you know what games you want to play, or what you consider affordable. I’ll just answer it this way: get a laptop with a GTX 1650 (or 1650 Ti, even better) based GPU on the lowest end. You can find them for around $700. If they have a normal 1080p display, they will be able to play most games at medium to high settings. A laptop screen looks great at medium settings in something like CoD.

In contrast, if you want a laptop for VR, you should really look at a desktop.

There is no real difference in quality between Lenovo, Acer, HP, Asus, and Dell, since their components essentially come from the same factories.

Will You Really Get a Gaming Laptop in $200?

Cheap?

Gaming?

Laptop?

You can’t have all three at the same time. While you can get a cheap laptop, it won’t be suitable for gaming. There are gaming laptops available, but they aren’t cheap.

Even if you buy a cheap gaming machine, it won’t be a laptop (it will be a console or a used/old gaming PC).

Which Type of Gaming Laptop Should You buy?

Hardware Specification

You obviously want a solid hardware that can interact with your software to give you good performance.

If you want to future-proof your laptop for at least 5–6 years, I recommend using a laptop with all the hardware components listed below.

Procesor

  • Intel Core i5 (10th gen) or an i7 processor. Choose Ryzen AMD 5 or 7 series if you are more into gaming as AMD offers the better gaming experience than Intel counterparts.

RAM – Memory

If you are planning on attending online lectures, taking notes, drafting emails, browsing the web, or preparing a PPT/Word document, it would be wise to purchase a laptop with 4GB of RAM installed.

When performing the above tasks as well. It is necessary to run numerous workplace/programming programs on a laptop. Having a few tasks open at the same time or performing basic photo/video editing requires moderate multitasking. You should choose a laptop that has at least 8GB of RAM.

Playing graphically and performance intensive games or running virtual machines require extensive usage. The same holds true for professional photo/video editing that requires the editing of 4K photos and videos where multiple effects need to be applied. As part of the transitions, it would be wise to choose a laptop with at least 16GB of RAM.

Cache Memory

A hardware component that is often overlooked when comparing laptop specifications is this one. A laptop’s performance is highly dependent on the cache.

You can keep your browser tabs in memory by using the cache memory. You do not need to refresh your programs every time you visit them after a while because it runs them in the background.

Graphics Card (GPU)

You need a dedicated graphics card. If you want to perform graphics intensive tasks such as photo and video editing, use NVIDIA GeForce 940MX or above.

Storage

A laptop’s generation and RAM amount do not contribute to performance changes, which is imperative to take into consideration when choosing one.

What matters is whether SSDs are present or not. In the case of SSD. An SSD’s controller, also known as its processor, knows exactly where the blocks are located when the user requests a file. This is a place to write specific data, which is almost instantly available to the user.

There is no need to wait for a read/write head to locate the information it needs. The SSD access time is thus measured in nanoseconds. This results in a potent performance, as SSDs are able to read and write data at a speed of up to 3500MBps. There is no wait for a read/write head to find the information it needs.

Hard drives, on the other hand, are capable of providing read-write speeds only within the range of 50 MBps to 170 MBps.

Battery Life

You will need at least a four-cell battery. As the number of cells increases, the battery performs better and also consumes less power.

Chassis

Solidly constructed chassis. In this area, most manufacturers cut corners because it is one of the most overlooked. Consider laptops made by some of the most popular companies, such as Dell, Apple, HP, and Asus.

These brands are more concerned with customer satisfaction than with filling their own pockets.

Recommendation of Cheap Laptops

I would recommend that you go for a gaming laptop that ranges from $700-$1000. But if you are looking for a laptop that offers gaming with school assignments, you may opt upto $300-$500. In othe words under $200 you won’t get a gaming laptop but just a false comfort..

Lenovo Legion Y545

A discrete Nvidia graphics processor drives up a surprising amount of power on the notebook, with above-average results. Besides gaming, the laptop’s Core i7 chip lets you make clocks, do a little video-editing, and watch movies on the gorgeous 1080p screen when you are not gambling.

Despite its high price, the notebook also boasts a comfortable keyboard and excellent sound quality. The notebook is an excellent gaming option without breaking the bank.

It offers powerful gaming performance and total functionality with an understated, business-ready appearance — at an affordable price. Lenovo opted for a sophisticated, lively design rather than a flashy light display, making it suitable for both the workplace and LAN parties.

Asus TUF Gaming FX705

If you require a large, midsize, and economical gaming notebook, the TUF Gambling FX705 is an excellent choice. A comfortable keyboard and customizable lighting make the notebook an excellent choice as well.

There are lots of ports and the laptop has more than four hours of battery life, which is impressive for a gaming notebook regardless of price range. With a 17.3-inch, 1920 x 1080 screen and 144Hz refresh rate, we were very impressed with the notebook.

Furthermore, not only did the notebook deliver extremely smooth eyeglasses, but it was bright and vibrant as well. It is perfect for watching movies and playing games. A strong mid-level gaming notebook, the Asus TUF Gaming FX705 offers excellent performance at an affordable price.
